Lauren Sheehan, Songster
Farewell Winter Tour 2016

" .... a one-woman Americana jukebox... her fingerwork and sensitive singing, Piedmont picking....all sounds deceptively easy, which is a testament to her huge talent.” —Huffington Post

Cannon Beach and Portland OR, TN, NC, FL

It's been lovely in Oregon, but I'm very excited to be heading south soon after a couple fine Oregon shows. Hear me with Terry Robb or The Portlanders in Portland, with Zoë Carpenter, TILLAMOOK BURN, at the Down East Folk Arts Festival in NC and I'll be solo for the other shows.

A female workforce, WWII, at Gibson is finally recognized. I'll be bringing highlights of this Kalamazoo Gals story, book and CD to Cannon Beach and to the south eastern shows. Do you have an old Gibson? Get in touch by email and I'll try to incorporate it into one of the shows.

Tillamook Burn - Saturday, Mar 19, 7:00 pm, Down East Folk Arts Festival — http://www.downeastfolkarts.org/Festival-Sched.html

About Tillamook Burn

“Songcatchers of the highest order, performing with joy.” —Rick Ceballos, Lake Champlain Folk

Tillamook Burn is a mother-daughter duo from the coastal mountains of Oregon.

Lauren Sheehan and Zoë Carpenter launched Tillamook Burn in January 2015 with a self-titled EP, which features their instinctive vocal harmonies backed up on guitar, banjo, and mandolin. They play old school American music as well as contemporary folk and originals and their sound is directly influenced from time spent with some of America’s greatest folk and blues artists, living legends, Heritage Fellows and reg'lar folks who are great pickers and singers.

Lauren began her solo career in 2003 and since then has performed at numerous national festivals, been heard on BBC and NPR, charted at the top of folk radio charts, and in 2012 won a Portland Music Award. Zoë grew up steeped in American roots music and began her professional collaboration with Lauren in 2011.
